KITCHEN-TABLE PHYSICS · DIARY ADJACENT
Everyday gravity. Kitchen-table physics. Towel optional. Honesty isn’t.
Ulysses mouse hosts this bay — the white mouse left behind in her hobbit hole, trying to live life while the lab mice run Experiment 42 on everyone else. Everyday habitation of 42: kitchen-table physics, crumbs, kids on the tray, honesty that is not optional. Arthur hides diary notes; she still hears the kettle. Motto holds: towel optional. Honesty isn’t.
PAPER MAP · KITCHEN-TABLE PHYSICS Everyday gravity. Towel optional. Honesty isn’t. This hull is the map — wake to fold, kids on the tray, cheesecake as small real joy — not the paper stack itself. Substack holds the essays; here you sit at the table and name what is true.

PROCEDURE · SIX STAGES A visual route for ordinary life that still tells the truth. Soft mush fails the subject even at breakfast. Follow the stages; skip only after you’ve named what you skipped.

ARTHUR: I want them safe and still themselves. · Mice: safety that erases reality is not safety — it is a sealed room.Small real joy is allowed. Chains dressed as cheese are not. Rate integrity; do not pretend the craving is a government plan — or that government never hijacks the craving.

All joking aside: one of the hardest things to grieve is knowing the people you love — the ones you wanted to raise, the ones you wanted to watch grow up — think nothing but lies about you. They are not dead. You just cannot see them. The process rhymes with families looking over the border into North Korea: you know what happened, you know what is wrong, and the family on the other side is indoctrinated into propaganda so deep that the tray no longer holds ordinary truth.
You can literally watch someone, in puzzlement, cut their own wrists in hopes it will save their lives — and as they look down at the bleeding, they look to the dictator, or to the head of the cult of personality, as if the miracle of that presence will make the cult’s rules true, and they will not be the fool. There is a point inside a cult when the brain flickers off. You stop thinking for yourself. You run on automatic.
For this mouse, it usually was not until something traumatic that the snap came — awake, and suddenly you see all of what you were doing, all of what you were told growing up, all of what you were told from seventeen onward: bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit. Most of the time it is said to keep one person in the hierarchy safe — monarchy, matriarchy, or man-run; either way there is one person everyone is afraid of upsetting. Anger that person, and hell will be paid. Most of the people around that person end up with severe anger problems, severe detachment problems — and it gets pegged on the one who is no longer there to defend themselves. That is the purpose of a scapegoat.
