01What it is to be a scientist

MAD SCIENTIST · METHOD A scientist does not win by being loud in one drawer. Humans play “there ain’t no flies on me” — left flies, right flies — and refuse the other drawer of data. Sun Tzu said know thy enemy; the lab version is simpler: know the other set of observations before you crown yourself right.

French Revolution seating invented a maze: supporters of the old regime to the president’s right, revolution to the left. Us-versus-them is pliable and volatile. Ego — inflated superiority — acts like mind poison. Most humans do not see it arriving.

Careful rule from the paper’s spine: do not spread or fuel the lies a ruling group wants pushed. Do not label a whole group the same unless the group’s core practices are abusive — and then weigh how much those actions damage the rest. When the old vanguard falls, nature does not bend. Voids fill. New egos claim thrones. Sheep, scared and hungry, hand power to “blue bloods” to be saved. That is not how salvation works. That is how highways get built through planets.

CLASSIC METHOD · APPLIED TO THE RH ODDNESS Mad-scientist mouse walks the Rh trail from Color me RH- through five honest steps. Credible backing and logical basis are present. Proof of the full folk-to-biology braid is not claimed. Hypothesis remains hypothesis until tested.

MYTH TOUCHES BIOLOGY · KEEP BOTH LABELS Royalty is centuries old — feudal landowners, force and purchase, one crowned king. Ancient history is riddled with holes; proof hides in words, art, DNA, remains. “Blue blood” (from ~1811) named pale indoor skin and visible blue-tinted veins — leisure away from the sun, not a noble pigment. Ignorance then tied that look to blue baby (cyanosis from low oxygen) as if it were “royal blue.”

If real biology were faced honestly, diversity would not be a slogan — it would be a survival variable.

PROBLEM WITH ONE-ANSWER THEATRE Pseudoscience is not “ideas we dislike.” It is method theatre: a conclusion locked before the drawers open, evidence sorted to protect the ego, revision treated as betrayal. If you decide a knife will always heal, you never learn when it cuts. If you decide a knife will always harm, you never learn when it saves. Lock into one answer and you stop being a scientist — you become a choir.

Real study keeps both edges on the table. Tools, blood, stories, power — none of them are holy or cursed by slogan. You observe, ask, hypothesize, test, revise.
