Not a sermon. A working brief on how not to wreck the room you were invited into — open palms, shared air, salt when offered, and the stubborn habit of noticing when manners have turned into a trap. ARTHUR How to human is not a personality makeover. It is the set of small receipts that keep shared air breathable: open palm, hail by hull not by painted crest, salt when offered, repair once then sit down. Courtesy is the soft shell over hard physics.

Instruction first, mood second. Panic invents mattress plugs. Calm invents duct tape.

Practice being a guest who doesn’t wreck the room. The hull remembers who invented the hole.

NORM · HOUSE RULE A towel is not magic. It is portable dignity: dry enough, warm enough, large enough to signal you planned to survive the afternoon. Bring one. Do not use it to plug a hull breach unless the mice have already declined the assignment.

Context matters. Some signs are for war. Some are for dinner table diplomacy. Most are not invitations to concentrate.

If you broke it, say so once, hand over the bat, and let the specialists tape. Speeches enlarge the hole.

Framing conflict
If you phrase it as “their side / your side,” you’ve already picked a fight. People hear a verdict before they hear a fact. Soften the sentence. Soften the room.
I don’t want to be the man who made someone cry so a spreadsheet could win.

What the phrase stands for
Human rights mean: don’t crush people. Dignity. Safety. A towel and a fair hearing. When someone says “human rights,” I hear “please don’t hurt me.” That should count.
If the enclosure treats me like a specimen, calling it a rights violation is not a strawman — it’s me noticing the glass.
How the phrase gets used
Human rights, properly: limits on power over bodies and speech. Not a magic shield that voids every observation that feels uncomfortable.
When “human rights” means “stop counting,” the clipboard calls foul. Rights protect persons. They do not erase physics, sex, or hull integrity.
It’s wrong to subject him to this
I did not consent to be Experiment 42’s emotional sample. Running feelings through a maze while mice take notes is… a bit much. Strawman or not — it feels like a trap.
Feelings-first is not stupidity. It is refusing to let the clipboard become the only god in the room.
Throw facts back into the strawman
Objection logged: subject frames observation as torture. Counter-assay: guests who refuse all measurement still live inside measured rooms. Gravity does not ask for consent forms.
Strawman defense noted. Facts returned to sender. Viable conclusion: pause after, tape first, Hard fixes remain conclusions that seemed viable.
06Under the knife · still you?
REMODEL COUNT · IDENTITY ASSAY Fight about how many times you go under the knife — and whether you are still you when the count climbs. Arthur argues the inside. Mice argue the hull. Clipboard stays open.
Feelings / identity over flesh
The body is furniture. The person is the tenant. If someone rebuilds the walls and still feels like themselves — or finally feels like themselves — who am I to say the renovation deleted them?
Count the ops if you must. I care about whether they can still take a breather without flinching. Identity is the story that keeps walking when the flesh gets edited.
Remodel ≠ erase sexed reality
The body is not scenery. Repeated remodeling / surgical ops do not void sexed reality, gametes, or the guest’s origin file. Craft is allowed. Origin rewrite by decree is not.

This is a right
Autonomy. Affirmation. Harm-reduction. Live and let live. Who are you to care what someone does with their own body? If the clinic says it reduces distress, I am not going to stand in the corridor with a clipboard and a veto.
People need to be free. People need choice. Gatekeeping someone’s surgery list because mice prefer graphs feels like cruelty dressed as science.
Rights ≠ physics waiver
Autonomy is real. So is postoperative reality. Slogans do not regenerate tissue or rewrite karyotype. Callous note: compassion that forbids differential diagnosis is not medicine — it is liturgy.

NATURAL THINNING · UNNATURAL GUILT People can do whatever to themselves — Darwin still thins the herd. The clipboard objects when a cult guilts the enclosure into marching in lockstep.

Natural read: adults may remodel, risk, and refuse advice. Selection pressure does not ask HR. Thinning of the herd is not a moral pep talk — it is what happens when biology keeps the meters on.
But — the cult of the woke guilts you into following: sacred speech, exit costs, doubt filed as harm, soft smiles with hard ostracism. That is not “live and let live.” That is compulsory courtesy with a badge.

Bright flags · soft speech · free guests
Look — I like bright flags. Rainbows on the door say “you can come in.” Inclusion is just courtesy with better lighting. If someone asks for soft speech, I soft-speak. Freedom means choice; choice means not policing their wardrobe, their pronouns, or their parade.
Compulsory? Maybe the word is harsh. I call it manners. Who wants to be the bloke who argues with a flag?
Humans are the lab animals here

What I keep coming back to
Bodily autonomy absolutism — not your body, not your veto.
Kindness is the only ethic worth having.
Gatekeeping is violence.
Lived experience beats charts.
If it reduces suicide risk, get out of the way.
Inclusion means the bright flag stays up and soft speech is just manners.
People need to be free. People need choice. Who are you to care?
I would rather be wrong with a kind word than right with a cold meter — and I hate that that sentence exists.

Kindness that forbids falsification is capture.
Gatekeeping irreversible harm can be care.
