Frank is not a mad scientist. He is the mouse who empties the bins, kicks the doomsday clock when it
drones, and pockets a cube of cheese when the lights flicker. His answer is the same one a farmer,
a midwife, or a mammal textbook would give without a press conference:
A woman is an adult human female.

Female is the sex that, in mammals, is organized around large gametes (ova). Male is organized around
small gametes (sperm). Adult means past childhood. Human means Homo sapiens. Stack those words —
you get woman. You do not get a costume, a slogan, or a mood. You get a sexed adult of one of two sexes.
Frank’s tone stays stubborn, not cruel: floors still need mopping; bodies still come in two reproductive
designs; calling the mop a telescope does not make it see stars.

In anisogamous species (including humans), sex is anchored to gamete type:
female → ova; male → sperm. That is the binary the rest of the anatomy serves.

Typical XX / XY pathway
Most humans follow XX (female) or XY (male) developmental pathways.
Chromosomes initiate; gonads, ducts, and secondary traits follow — usually cleanly.
DEVELOPMENT
Sexed before feelings arrive
Primary sex differentiation begins in utero. Later feelings, roles, and clothes
are real human data — they do not rewrite the reproductive design underneath.
PUBERTY

Puberty amplifies sexed secondary characteristics. A female child becomes a woman
by maturation of the female organism — not by renaming.
FERTILITY
Windows open and close
Fertility rises and falls. Pregnancy is a female capacity when present.
Infertility does not un-sex a person any more than a broken clock stops being a clock.
MENOPAUSE / ANDROPAUSE
Mid-life ≠ flip
Hormone declines and mid-life shifts are common. They are not evidence that sex
“changed.” The female mammal who completes menopause is still female — still a woman if adult.

OBSERVATION · NOT CRUELTY
Developmental sex disorders / differences of sex development (DSDs; sometimes called intersex conditions)
are real medical facts. They are uncommon. Medicine treats disorders and anomalies as clinical problems
for the patient — not as a rewrite of the species definition.
Oddities do not abolish the binary any more than people born with six fingers abolish the count of five
on a human hand. Exceptions are noted on the clipboard. They are not the new mean.

Low prevalence developmental anomalies matter for care.
They do not convert “adult human female” into an undefined vibe.

Treat the disorder
Clinical honesty: support the patient, describe the pathway that misfired,

Arthur takes feelings in. He does not want anyone hurt. That instinct is human — and useful for manners.
It is not a biology override. Feelings matter as feelings. They do not fertilize, gestate, or redefine sex.
On this bay: kindness means telling the truth without theater, and refusing to turn other people’s
bodies into props for a locked answer. A quiet minute after the hard paragraph is allowed. So is disagreement
without exile.
Feelings are real. Biology is also real. When they conflict, I want everyone to be okay —
and I am learning that “okay” cannot mean “pretend the clipboard is blank.”
